2015 in Review
Talk about a building boom: We covered more than 25 projects, almost all including apartments.
Look no further than our weekly Friday Photos column for an example of how the apartment boom is reshaping Milwaukee.
We covered more than 25 projects in 2015, almost all including a housing component. If one is looking for evidence of a building boom in Milwaukee, look no further than the wide range of projects we covered. That included everything from the biggest building in Milwaukee (Northwestern Mutual‘s new tower) to a new building on Marquette’s campus for housing priests, not to mention the wave of adaptive reuse projects driven by changes to the state’s historic preservation tax credit program and various apartment buildings rising in infill locations in Milwaukee’s most urban neighborhoods. We saw a little of everything get built in 2015, but almost all of it was driven by the demand for urban housing primarily targeting the millenial generation.
Looking forward to 2016, we’ll have an almost entirely new slate of projects to cover. Milwaukee’s momentum looks likely to continue. Meanwhile, here’s a chance to pause and look back at all the projects chronicled in Friday Photos in 2015.
