The Kimpton Hotel is a 158-bedroom hotel on the corner of E. Chicago St. and N. Broadway in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward. The hotel includes a ground-floor restaurant and a rooftop bar.

The hotel broke ground in December of 2014. The project opened in 2016.

The project architect is Kahler Slater, with the hotel being developed by HKS Holdings, LLC. The site is owned by Chicago Street Holdings, LLC.

The site was previously a surface parking lot. It was previously owned by Milwaukee developer Peter Renner, who sold the land in 2012 to Jackson Street Management (developers of the Milwaukee St. Marriott Hotel and owners of the Aloft Hotel). Jackson Street Management sold the land for this project.

The project is Kimpton’s first in the Milwaukee market. They were previously slated to enter the market with the cancelled Palomar Hotel.

The hotel is nine-stories tall. A project office opened in 2014 at 311 E. Chicago St. in a 4,900 square-foot space.

A restaurant is included on the first floor, with a rooftop bar and lounge area. The hotel includes 7,000 square-feet of meeting and event space.
