    Another interesting hot topic that could be added, perhaps next week, is yet another study that shows Milwaukee near dead last in millennial population growth, and absolutely dead last in the percentage of black residents with a college degree. I think people in this city sometimes suffer from the delusion that we’ve arrived as a destination city and we’re in the midst of a boom. The depressing stats, year after year, say otherwise.

    Cities nationwide have added apartment buildings and office towers in the recent development binge and rebirth of city living, nothing unique here, but it doesn’t necessarily signify that your city is healthy and prosperous. When we, hopefully, finally see these studies show Milwaukee trending strongly upward in these demographics, then we can talk about a renaissance. While there are a lot of great things going on downtown, there is way too much stagnation and decay elsewhere.
