Two50Two is the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design residence hall at 252 E. Menomonee Street in the Historic Third Ward. The building was developed by General Capital Group and is managed by MIAD. Also included in the facility is first-floor commercial space.
The building contains housing for 310 students as well as two retail stalls. A 4,000-square-foot stall is leased to Blick Art Supply. Likewise Coffee leases a stall facing E. Erie St.
The residences are laid out as 75 two-bedroom suites, with four students sharing a living room, kitchen, and two bathrooms. Additional accommodations are included for nine student resident assistants and the resident manager. The facility, when it opened, cost $6,800 for the 2014-2015 academic year, with a $700 fee for utilities, cable, and internet access. For a number of years, students at MIAD lived in the Eisner Building, but switched in recent years to The Park at 1824. MIAD ceased leasing that facility when the Two50Two opens.
The new residence hall replaces a one-story building at the site. Before demolition that building was home to Snap Fitness and Fore Milwaukee, a virtual driving range.
The building opened in fall 2014. It was designed by Historic Third Ward headquartered Engberg Anderson.
