UW-Milwaukee hosts experts discussion of city’s growing inequality

MILWAUKEE _ A panel of civic leaders, Milwaukee-area state legislators and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee faculty will discuss the sources of growing inequality in Milwaukee, how Milwaukee compares with other cities, and public policy to address the issue of inequality at the 9th Annual Henry W. Maier State of Milwaukee Summit.
The event takes place at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, in the Edith S. Hefter Conference Center, 3271 N. Lake Dr. A period for questions and a reception will follow the panel discussion. The event is free and open to the public.
The panel includes:
Rep. David Bowen, Assembly District 10
Sheila Cochran, Milwaukee Area Labor Council, AFL-CIO
Rep. Dale Kooyenga, Assembly District 14
Marc Levine, UW-Milwaukee professor of history and urban studies
Timothy Sheehy, Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce
The moderator is Joel Rast, UW-Milwaukee professor of political science and urban studies.
