UWM Peck School of the Arts opens its doors for Kenilworth Open Studios

The UWM Peck School of the Arts welcomes the public next month for Kenilworth Open Studios, a 3-hour free event that features over 100 artists across six floors at the creative research facility, Kenilworth Square East.

Attendees of all ages will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a variety of activities that reflect why PSOA is the place to be for aspiring artists in Milwaukee. Throughout the event, guests can experience art exhibitions, hands-on art activities, animation and film demonstrations, studio visits, and live pop-up performances.

Highlights include:

  • Art & Design: Augmented reality projects by a 3D modeling and XR class, an MFA Exhibition: Determinant Reflections, a BA/BFA Spring Exhibition, and more
  • Film, Video, Animation & New Genres: Screenings of recent student work, Foley Sound Demonstrations, Animation Demonstrations, and more
  • Dance: Improvisation in Dance-Making and a behind-the-scenes look at rehearsals for Springdances: Surfacing
  • Music: Pop-up performances by small music groups

The Department of Art & Design and the Department of Film, Video, Animation & New Genres will also offer an inside look at various faculty, staff, and student studio spaces across various floors.

Located in the heart of Milwaukee’s East Side neighborhood in a former Ford factory, Kenilworth now houses artist studios along with research, instruction, performance and production spaces for the UWM Peck School of the Arts.
