In the DNC Selection Process, Milwaukee is the Crème de la Crème
"Milwaukee, Wisconsin would be the perfect location to host the upcoming Democratic National Convention in 2020!"
Madison – Today State Senator Tim Carpenter (D-Milwaukee) released the following statement endorsing Milwaukee as the best location to hold the Democratic National Convention in 2020:
“Milwaukee, Wisconsin would be the perfect location to host the upcoming Democratic National Convention in 2020! Currently in the middle of an economic renaissance, downtown Milwaukee is setting the stage for the Democrats to put the Midwest in a place of prominence in our national political dialog.”
“I am very excited to hear that Milwaukee is a finalist in the DNC selection process, and am looking forward to having the committee come and see why Milwaukee is the best choice! Having attended Democratic National Conventions in the past, I know what a positive impression it leaves on the attendees. For the city, this opportunity represents a $200 million economic impact, and a chance to spread the word that Milwaukee is a great tourism destination.”
“At the center of all the new restaurants, businesses and hotels that make up the explosion of economic development, is the new Milwaukee Bucks Arena. With its design focused on guests’ comfortability, and inclusivity, as well as environmental sensitivity, the Arena provides an attractively modern venue for the convention.”
“On the western shore of Lake Michigan, Milwaukee is in the heart of our nation. With General Mitchell International Airport offering non-stop flights to cities all around the U.S., and it’s variety of transportation options for getting around town, Milwaukee is a very accessible location for travelers.”
“As a swing state with a high voter participation rate, Wisconsin is an imperative state to invite into the discourse of national politics. By holding the convention here, Democrats can foster the support that we need in the heartland of America.”
“Milwaukee would love the chance to host the Democratic National Convention for the first time in 2020. With its ease of access, affordability, great food and drinks, and many sights and activities, it definitely won’t be the last time you decide to come. A convention in Milwaukee would engage the Midwest at a significant moment in the next presidential election. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with Wisconsin!”
