October 12, 2022 – Milwaukee, WI. Friday October 14, Third Space Brewing will release its Collaboration IPA, One In Four, to raise funds and awareness for domestic violence prevention.

One in four women and one in nine men have experienced some form of domestic violence, according to the CDC. “This staggering statistic was chosen as the name of the beer to help start conversations within local communities about the prevalence of domestic violence and to raise funds for prevention” said Matt Cisz, Lead Brewer at Third Space Brewing and creator of One In Four. “When you lose a family member to domestic violence, all you want to do is find a way to prevent it from happening to anyone else,” shared Cisz.

Third Space Brewing has inspired over 50 breweries in 20 states and one foreign country to join the effort by brewing their own One In Four collaboration beers to be released throughout October, Domestic Violence Awareness Month. All Third Space Brewing has asked in return for the beer recipe, label designs and marketing materials, is for breweries to donate a portion of proceeds to a local organization combatting domestic violence or to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

Third Space Brewing will donate to Sojourner Family Peace Center 20% of all draft beer sales from Friday’s release event and 100% of profits from the sale of all cans and draft pours of One In Four, which will be available in 6-packs at the brewery starting Friday and at numerous retail partners that sell Third Space Brewing products.

The release event Friday runs from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at the brewery’s tap room at 1505 W. St. Paul Avenue in Milwaukee. It will feature free live music from local artist Trapper Schoepp. The brewery is also asking attendees to bring cans of soup to help restock the shelves of Sojourner’s shelter.

Representatives from Sojourner Family Peace Center and Third Space Brewing will be onsite to talk about the One In Four project and how individuals can help combat domestic violence in our community. The One In Four Project also remains open for other breweries to join in the effort. They may sign up or learn more at oneinfour.beer

Industry partners Malteurop Malting Company, Yakima Chief Hops and Blue Label Packaging have also joined the effort by offering discounts on materials for brewing and packaging One In Four.

Consumers can support the effort by attending the release event Friday, October 14, or by purchasing cans or pints of Third Space Brewing’s version of One In Four or one of the more than 50 other versions of the beer that will be brewed by brewers throughout the country and world.
