The Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design is a private college located in the Historic Third Ward. Commonly referred to as MIAD, the college provides Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in the fields of Communication Design, Drawing, Illustration, Industrial Design, Integrated Fine Arts Studio, Interior Architecture + Design, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture and Time-Based Media.

The college has used a number of residence halls over the years. The first of which was in the Cawker Estate Building (Eisner Building) in 1994. Currently the school leases space at The Park at 1824 on Milwaukee’s Murray Hill neighborhood. Under construction is Two50Two at 252 E. Menomonee St in the Historic Third Ward, which will be managed by the college and owned by General Capital Group. Two50Two was designed by Engberg Anderson.

In mid-2013, MIAD sold the Cawker Estate Building to Joseph Property Development.
