The Green Bay Packers signed EDGE D.J. Johnson, QB Cam Miller and S John Saunders Jr. to the practice squad and released S Kahlef Hailassie (kuh-LEEF huh-LAW-see) from the practice squad. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transactions Tuesday.

Johnson (6-4, 260), a third-year player out of the University of Oregon, was originally selected by the Carolina Panthers in the third round (No. 80 overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft. He played in 31 games with five starts for the Panthers from 2023-25, recording 60 tackles (25 solo), four tackles for a loss, a half-sack, a QB hit, two passes defensed and a fumble recovery on defense as well as two tackles on special teams. Johnson spent the end of last season and the first week of this season on the Washington Commanders’ practice squad. He will wear No. 46 for the Packers.

Miller (6-1, 215), a first-year player out of North Dakota State, was originally selected by the Las Vegas Raiders in the sixth round (No. 215 overall) of the 2025 NFL Draft. He spent almost his entire rookie season on the Raiders’ practice squad, but was signed to the Miami Dolphins’ active roster for the final game of the season (not active on gameday), Miller was released by the Dolphins at the end of training camp. He played five seasons (2020-24) for the Bison and started 56 games, helping lead NDSU to two NCAA Division I FCS national championships. Miller broke school career records for total offensive yards (11,998), completion percentage (69.4), completions (759) and passing yards (9,721), and finished No. 2 in passing attempts (1,094) and passing TDs (81). He will wear No. 17 for the Packers.

Saunders (6-2, 211), a first-year player out of the University of Mississippi, was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Miami Dolphins on May 9, 2025. He spent the first two months of his rookie year on the Dolphins’ practice squad before being signed to the New England Patriots’ active roster, where he was inactive for two games and dressed but did not play in another before being released on Nov. 17, 2025. Saunders spent the rest of the season on the Patriots’ practice squad and was released after the 2026 training camp. He has spent time on the practice squads of the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns this season. Saunders will wear No. 35 for the Packers.
