Diverse Array of Local Artwork to be featured during Gallery Night and Day

Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs said two Gallery Night exhibits tonight (April 25) and Saturday (April 26) in the 6th District will showcase artistic talent and expression across topics and media.

Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs said two Gallery Night exhibits tonight (April 25) and Saturday (April 26) in the 6th District will showcase artistic talent and expression across topics and media.

In Bronzeville, the Martin Luther King Economic Development Corporation is showcasing the artwork of Rosemary Ollison at the King Drive Commons Gallery and Studio, 2775 N. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. The free event will be held Friday (tonight) from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A posting describes Rosemary Ollison’s exhibition as featuring writing, painting, drawing and digital art. Rosemary’s exhibition is titled: Beyond Religion: Finding True Self and Purpose in My Creative Works.

Entertainment will include live jazz by Larry Moore Trio, and a performance presented by Hansberry Sands Theater Company. Refreshments will also be a provided.

At RedLine Milwaukee, 1422 N. 4th St., “1988 Apocalypse Series” will be showcased and includes works of Keith Haring combined with the writings of William S. Burroughs, which reflect upon Haring’s personal struggle with AIDS in a 20-piece series. The exhibition will run through July 19.

The RedLine exhibitions will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Fridays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
