African drum and dance event in the park Sunday

The event will be a family friendly event.

Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs invites residents to an African drum and dance event in the park. “UMOJA in the Park” is from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday August 27 at Victory Over Violence Park, at 2601 N. King Drive.

The event will be a family friendly event. It will feature vendors, community resources, and a school supply giveaway. Come listen to the beats of African drumming, take an African dance class and listen to a mini-concert while mingling with your neighbors. It’s an event fun for the whole family!
