VISIT Milwaukee is proud to announce its forthcoming television show “Good Things Brewing,” hosted by award-winning event planner David Caruso, and produced and distributed by Plum Media, begins airing February 18 in 15 Midwestern markets. In creating “Good Things Brewing,” VISIT Milwaukee seeks to introduce the destination and all its amenities to new viewers to increase awareness of and drive visitation to Milwaukee, which was recently named one of the top places in the world for a visit in 2023 by National Geographic. Subsequent episodes will air February 25, March 4 and March 11.

In “Good Things Brewing,” host David Caruso takes viewers on an adventure through the community guided by eight extraordinary Milwaukeeans. Throughout the four episodes in this pilot season, David and the Plum film crew explore three food halls and a food truck park, three art galleries, two coffee shops, a wine store, an Italian bakery, a Mexican grocery store, America’s Black Holocaust Museum, a neighborhood barbershop, six amazing restaurants, three county parks, the city’s only state park, Deer District and Henry Maier Festival Park. In every episode, “Good Things Brewing” positions Milwaukee as an exciting, accessible, and diverse destination with top-tier amenities and attractions.

“Milwaukee prides itself on being a place that welcomes all people. No matter who you are or what you celebrate, Milwaukee has something for you,” said Josh Albrecht, vice president of marketing and communications for VISIT Milwaukee. “From Bublr Bikes to Harley-Davidson motorcycles, catching a show at the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra to rocking out at Summerfest, or walking through booths at the Juneteenth Day parade to sipping on authentic beer at German Fest, the extraordinary culture of Brew City is one that can be experienced at any time throughout the year. We hope that viewers get to see all that and more with this show.”

Good Things Brewing features Milwaukeeans like celebrity sneaker artist Noel Alvarado; chef/owner of The Bartolotta Restaurants Paul Bartolotta; founder of video production company Sandra Dempsey; owner of a Zocalo food truck park Jesus Gonzalez; Milwaukee County Judge/Director of Marquette University Law School’s Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education Derek Mosley; Milwaukee Bucks’ official DJ Shawna Nicols;  prolific Milwaukee-based muralist Mauricio Ramirez; and curator at Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel Samantha Timm.

The show will be broadcast on network affiliates in Milwaukee, Green Bay, Madison, La Crosse, Eau Claire, Wausau, Minneapolis, Rochester, Minn., Chicago, Rockford, Ill., Grand Rapids, Marquette, South Bend, Ind., Des Moines, Iowa and Quad Cities, Iowa. With these combined audiences, the show is expected to showcase Milwaukee’s diverse array of amenities to 9.2 million potential television viewers, and even more through digital channels. A full list of stations and markets can be found below.

The 14 outside markets for “Good Things Brewing” were chosen because of their easy drive-in or fly-in access as well as their base level of awareness of our community. Many of these markets are already strong for visitation to Milwaukee, but there is always room to grow.

“I’m excited that this television show will help to tell Milwaukee’s story to viewers in many different parts of our region,” says Good Things Brewing host David Caruso, who for the last 20 years has owned and operated Dynamic Events by David Caruso, one of the most well-known event planning firms in the region. “I know for sure that people will learn interesting facts, discover new favorite hang outs, and be inspired to experience everything that Milwaukee has to offer.”

The show was filmed and distributed by Plum Media, which has called Milwaukee home for over 25 years. “Plum Media is thrilled to be able to bring a show to life that helps celebrate all the best parts of Milwaukee,” said Dan Cary, Plum’s vice president and director of sales & marketing. “Our team enjoyed this project so much because even as lifelong Milwaukeeans we learned about hidden gems that we cannot wait to experience. We hope everyone loves the show as much as we do.”

Alongside the show, VISIT Milwaukee will also debut a talent attraction commercial produced by Lion Art Media and sponsored by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, as well as a commercial touting the Wisconsin Center’s forthcoming expansion created by Zizzo Group. In addition to these, VISIT Milwaukee will air a commercial promoting the Milwaukee Theater District, which boasts 15,000 theater seats in a safe, walkable cluster, making Milwaukee’s Theater District the No. 1 in the United States for the highest number of theater seats per capita. The goal of these commercials is to harness the built-in exposure of “Good Things Brewing” and layer in strategic messaging that positions Milwaukee as an amazing place to live, work and visit.

The show will broadcast in Milwaukee on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. on NBC.
