WLAX Announces Signing of Maeve Dwyer

Transfer from Notre Dame will spend final collegiate season in Milwaukee.

MILWAUKEE – Marquette University head women’s lacrosse coach Meredith Black has announced the addition of transfer Maeve Dwyer to the Golden Eagles roster. Dwyer joins Marquette following four seasons at Notre Dame.

At Notre Dame, Dwyer appeared in 24 games as an attacker and draw specialist over four seasons, contributing across multiple statistical categories. She saw action in seven games as a junior in 2025, recording four draw controls and a caused turnover, after appearing in nine contests as a sophomore in 2024, highlighted by her first career multi-goal game in the season opener against Eastern Michigan while adding additional scoring, ground balls and draw control contributions throughout the year. Dwyer also played in seven games as a freshman in 2023, making her collegiate debut against Liberty and registering a caused turnover at Butler.

A native of Wilmette, Illinois, Dwyer was a standout at Loyola Academy, where she helped lead her team to the 2021 Illinois High School State Championship under head coach John Dwyer. She earned numerous honors, including two-time USA Lacrosse All-American and Academic All-American accolades, while being a three-time All-Region, All-Section and First Team All-State selection. She served as a team captain her senior year and was named USA Lacrosse Player of the Week in April 2022. Dwyer was also selected to the Lacrosse Magazine 2021 National Watchlist (Class of 2022) and appeared on the Inside Lacrosse “On the Rise” list as both a junior and senior. She concluded her prep career with 116 goals, 71 assists, 61 ground balls, 146 draw controls and 66 caused turnovers.
