MILWAUKEE, Wisc. – October 25, 2022 – Third Space Brewing brings back its annual Deconstructed Dessert Barrel-Aged Beer Series Saturday with a Halloween-themed event. Each year Third Space Brewing selects a new dessert to deconstruct into six different barrel-aged variants. Each variant features the various ingredients in the selected dessert, with the final beer combining all ingredients into one decadent dessert beer.

The 2022 dessert is the Mudslide, and the 6 variants are 1) The Beer, 2) The Peanut Butter, 3) The Chocolate, 4) the Vanilla Ice Cream, 5) The Coffee, and 6) The Mudslide. Saturday October 29, Third Space will release the first two variants at its Halloween Party.

The Beer is the base beer for each of the other variants. It is a 13.5% ABV Russian Imperial Stout aged six months in bourbon barrels with no additional ingredients added. The Beer variant allows the consumer to enjoy the oak and spirit notes from the barrel-aging process without any added flavors. The other release for this weekend is The Peanut Butter, which is a brand-new variant for the series that includes peanut additions.

The first two variants will be available starting at 12:00 – noon on Saturday in 4-packs of 12oz cans and on draft. There is no pre-sale for this year’s Deconstructed Dessert Series so those hoping to purchase a 4-pack will have to come to the brewery this weekend or in the coming days, while supplies last.

The party will also feature the opportunity to smash pumpkins in the Third Space Brewing beer garden and a chance to win 2 tickets to the Smashing Pumpkins concert at Fiserv Forum on Sunday evening. Local pumpkin farm, Swan Pumpkin Farm has provided a van load of pumpkins for the event. While supplies last, all guests who purchase a Deconstructed Dessert 4-pack or spend its cash equivalent, will have the opportunity to smash a pumpkin. Anyone who attends can enter to win the concert tickets with no purchase necessary to enter and the winner chosen at 6:15 p.m. (Must be present to enter but not to win).

The event also features live music from the Tom and Evan Leahy Band from 2-4pm and food from Triciclo Peru Food Truck.

According to Third Space Brewing’s President & Co-Founder, Andy Gehl “an adult trick-or-treat-style beer like the Deconstructed Dessert: Mudslide deserves a fun Halloween party around it to mark the occasion. When we heard Smashing Pumpkins were playing the next night in Milwaukee, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to throw a pumpkin smashing party at our place and to give away some tickets. We added some live music of our own but unfortunately the Smashing Pumpkins were not available for a pre-show at the brewery.”

The second release day in the Deconstructed Dessert: Mudslide series is Black Friday, November 25th when the brewery will open early at noon as it has every year. That day, Third Space will release variants #3 and #4, The Chocolate and The Vanilla Ice Cream.

On Black Friday, Third Space will also release a new 2-year bourbon barrel-aged Russian Imperial Stout called Cellar Stash in single 16oz cans. Quantities of Cellar Stash are extremely limited as they came from only a single reserve barrel of the stout.

The final release day in the Deconstructed Dessert: Mudslide Series is Saturday December 17 when Third Space will release #5 and #6, The Coffee and The Mudslide. The final beer, The Mudslide, of course, combines all 4 ingredients into the final beer in the series for 2022.

“The Deconstructed Dessert Series opens up a busy barrel-aged beer release season for Third Space Brewing that will include some additional small batch barrel-aged releases coming in early 2023” added Gehl.
