Cream City Swirl, a new business featuring an assortment of frozen yogurt, crepes and gelato, will be opening in Bay View in Business Improvement District #44 along S. Kinnickinnic Ave., Alderman Tony Zielinski said.

The owner of Cream City Swirl, Ms. Susan Nolan, said she is quite pleased with the location. “I wanted to be in Bay View on South Kinnickinnic Avenue because I believe there’s no other place like it,” she said. “The businesses there have been bustling, and it is a now a very popular destination in Milwaukee.”

Although the building (located at 2663 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.) that will house Cream City Swirl is more than 100 years old, Ms. Nolan said the restaurant will have 21st Century features. “I believe the antiquity of the building will mesh nicely with the tasteful, retro, chic interior design and décor I am planning for the space. This shop will have a café feel and will be a place to socialize and hang out. It is ‘Uniquely Bay View,’” said Ms. Nolan, who has lived in Bay View for more than 25 years.

Alderman Zielinski, who has been working diligently to assist business owners in making the S. Kinnickinnic Ave. business district an even busier and more successful destination, said Ms. Nolan is in the process of renovating the Victorian era building, and hopes to open the restaurant there later this fall.

“When Susan approached me about wanting a location on Kinnickinnic Ave., I was happy to try to help make it happen,” Alderman Zielinski said. “I searched diligently to locate a building for this business, and introduced Ms. Nolan to the property owner at this location. Cream City Swirl will be a great addition to the district and the city.”
