Milwaukee Rap/Hip-Hop Artist Armstrong Ransome Joins Lineup at Chords & Curds Festival on the Plaza at Fiserv Forum on Saturday, Aug. 24
Ransome is an emcee, singer, songwriter and producer who has established himself as one of the rising talents of the Midwest.
MILWAUKEE (Aug. 20, 2019) – Milwaukee’s Armstrong Ransome, who was named the best rap/hip-hop artist of 2018 by Wisconsin Area Music Industry, will join the lineup at Chords & Curds Festival taking place on the plaza at Fiserv Forum on Saturday, Aug. 24. Ransome will perform from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. during the all-day fest dedicated to local music, food and artisans.
“We are pleased to announce Armstrong Ransome as a late addition to the lineup,” said Fiserv Forum General Manager Raj Saha. “Armstrong has been involved with Fiserv Forum events in Year One, as he is also the emcee for Marquette Men’s Basketball games. We are really excited for his stage performance.”
Ransome will join headliners Angie Swan and New Age Narcissism, The Milwaukee Public Schools Community Gospel Choir, Misha Siegfried and His Band, Christopher’s Project, Grace Weber, and De La Buena.
The Midwest Mixer Dr. B, DJ NuStylez and DJ Bizzon will also perform as part of Hip-Hop Week MKE, running now through Sunday, Aug. 25.
Ransome, whose given name is Adebisi Agoro, is an emcee, singer, songwriter and producer who has established himself as one of the rising talents of the Midwest. He has been featured by publications, including The Source, Respect Magazine and The RapFest, and he earned a nomination for Album of the Year by 88Nine Radio Milwaukee.
Ransome shed his original moniker, BLAX, as he looks ahead to the future with a new creative vision following the recent death of his son. His newfound vision draws inspiration from the achingly human portrait of the times, infused with the sounds of his Nigerian and Southern roots.
Ransome looks to utilize his music as both a reminder of the past and a hope for a brighter future. With his words, he offers light to a new generation of listeners, providing them the strength to preserve and “Be Well.”
