Former Wisconsin Avenue School proposed for conversion to a 23-room hotel by developer Rick Wiegand. The hotel would be known as the Grand Avenue Suites.
The Grand Avenue Suites would be connected with the City Campus office complex.
The project was originally known as the Ambassador Suites hotel.
Wiegand was the only respondent to a city-issued request for proposals to acquire the site in the summer of 2017. He closed on the transaction in December 2017.
Originally designed by Van Ryn & DeGelleke. Quorum Architects is leading the design of the hotel conversion.
