On Saturday August 15 a Block Party at TAYLOR’S Bar on the corner of Jefferson & Wells will celebrate 20 years of success as one of East Town’s most popular night spots. The celebration will take place on the street right outside the tall French Doors that made TAYLOR’S a landmark Social Destination on the southwest corner of Cathedral Square.

TAYLOR’S has always had a reputation for the most eclectic collection of regular guests and was the first business in downtown Milwaukee to incorporate into its design a series of French doors that make it totally “open-air” during the short but enjoyable warm-weather season. The pedestrian-friendly business design with tall French-style Dutch doors was designed by Dan Taylor and the well-known illuminated sculpture behind the bar was designed by brother and local sculptor, Richard Taylor. The more-than-60 year old bar was relocated to East Town from it’s original location in Eddie Jackson’s Bay View Jazz Club.

Owners Jim Taylor, Dan Taylor and Nick Cuda invite everyone to celebrate this milestone anniversary along with them, their families, many returning employees, and the great collection of people who have always chosen TAYLOR’S as a place to meet an old friend… or make a new one!

Jefferson Street from Wells to Mason will be closed to street traffic from 3pm until midnight and open to celebrators to spread into the street and enjoy the live music of the Five Card Studs, The US Project and SaddleBrook. Music begins at 4pm. The street corner will be equipped with a satellite bar, Five Star Nachos and Falafel Guys food vendors. As always, the usual special vibe and funky atmosphere of a TAYLOR’S party will be the planned backdrop for the festivities.

TAYLOR’S is located at 795 N. Jefferson St. and is open at 4 pm week nights and 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
