Wisconsin IPA Fest Returns to Third Space Brewing August 20th

MILWAUKEE, Wisc. – June 2, 2022 – Saturday August 20th, Third Space Brewing will welcome 50 breweries and up to 1000 beer lovers to its massive beer garden for a one-of-a-kind beer festival that celebrates the most popular beer style in the country, the IPA.

The event is limited to Wisconsin breweries and is open to any brewery in the state who wants to make the trip to Milwaukee to show off their best IPAs. This year’s event will top out at 50 breweries pouring over 100 IPAs along with numerous non-IPAs for those who need a break from all the hops.

“We created the Wisconsin IPA Fest to showcase the awesome hoppy beers brewers are making in Wisconsin” stated Third Space Co-Founder and President, Andy Gehl. “It has been fun to watch how much the style has evolved over the six years we have hosted this event which provides Wisconsin beer lovers the chance to see what’s new and innovative in the world of hoppy beers in the state” added Gehl.

The Wisconsin IPA Fest is also a friendly competition to crown the “Best IPA in Wisconsin”. Each brewery will choose one IPA to submit to the competition and send their own brewer-judges to vote on the final champion. The winner takes home the coveted Wisconsin IPA Fest Trophy, a replica of a fermentation tank made by local equipment supplier and event sponsor, Quality Tank Solutions. Attendees at Wisconsin IPA Fest also get to vote on the People’s Choice Winner. Past winners of the main brewer-judged competition include Raised Grain (2021), Sheboygan Beer Co. (2019), Third Space (2018) and Lakefront (2017).

“The competition is more about gathering the brewers and beer lovers of our state to have a little fun together over great beer than it is about winning” reported Third Space Co-Founder and Brewmaster, Kevin Wright.

The 2022 Wisconsin IPA Fest runs from 2:00-5:00p.m. on August 20th. Like the 2021 iteration, the event includes unlimited responsible beer sampling and a Wisconsin IPA Fest Glass to keep for $65. Early Bird Tickets to the event are $55 but they are only available for a limited time.

VIP Tickets grant early access to the event at 1:00 and access to a special VIP lounge with extra seating, extra shade, and a private VIP bar with special VIP-only IPAs on tap. VIPs also get to take home a 4-pack of the 2022 Collaboration IPA. Each year, Third Space brews a collaboration IPA for the event with the winner of the previous year’s event. This year, Third Space will once again collaborate with Waukesha’s Raised Grain Brewing, who won the 2021 competition.

The event will also feature a make your own T-shirt station by event sponsor Craft Industry Apparel and local food trucks with food for purchase. To add to the fun, Third Space Brewing will have a DJ from Sound by Design, another event sponsor, playing music throughout the event.
