MILWAUKEE – County Supervisor Sylvia Ortiz-Velez invites all District 12 residents, especially those who frequently use the Kosciuszko Community Center, to attend two public meetings organized by the County Parks Department to determine the community center’s future.

“Kosciuszko is a centerpiece of our South Side community, but its future remains uncertain,” said Supervisor Ortiz-Velez. “We need your feedback and new ideas. Tell us what kinds of services and programs you would use if they were available. Our public engagement process is intended to help steer us in the proper direction as we make adjustments to Kozy Center programing. As a resident of the Kozy neighborhood, I look forward to hearing from my neighbors about how we can better utilize this important community space.”

The first meeting will be held in-person outdoors at the community center on Tuesday, September 28 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The second meeting will be virtual and on Thursday, September 30 from 4-6 p.m.

These public meetings are an opportunity to shape the future of Kosciuszko Community Center and ensure that it remains a valuable community resource for decades to come.

Residents who would like to participate can sign-in to Thursday’s meeting online using Zoom at https://us06web.zoom.us/j/81080212795, or by calling (312) 626-6799 to join by phone. The Zoom meeting ID is 810 8021 2795.

Residents who are unable to attend either meeting are encouraged to fill out a public engagement survey to provide feedback on the project.
