2020 Bronzeville Week concludes on Saturday, August 8th with a drive-in movie double feature for the whole family. The drive-in will take place at 2555 N. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. Space is limited and those interested must register in advance for a ticket.

Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs is looking forward to this unique event. “Hosting a drive-in movie is the perfect family oriented activity that allows for fun and engagement while remaining socially distant,” said Alderwoman Coggs. “This is a great way to close out the 8th Annual Bronzeville Week, and I want to thank all the sponsors and other supporters who helped make this happen.”

The first feature will be The Wiz and will start at 2:30 p.m. Those interesting in attending should reserve their ticket at http://www.plt882020thewiz.eventbrite.com. The second feature will be Barbershop beginning at 7 p.m. Prior to the start of Barbershop there will be a community conversation featuring State Representative Kalan Haywood, Nicole Robbins – Executive Director, Martin Luther King Economic Development Corporation, Neil Kelly – Master Barber, Gee’s Clippers Barber & Beauty Salon, Minister Kelly and Tokara Bijou Henson – Owner of Bijou Nails & Company. Those wanting to attend the screening of Barbershop can reserve their ticket at http://www.plt882020barbershop.eventbrite.com.
