City of Milwaukee Responds to Park-O-Meter Closure
The City of Milwaukee has been notified that Park-O-Meter, the company that provides the software supporting the City’s parking meters, will cease operations effective October 1.
As a result, credit card payments made directly at the parking meters will temporarily be unavailable beginning October 1.
Parking meters will continue to accept coins. Drivers can also continue to pay by credit card through the ParkMobile app or online. Each meter displays information on how to pay using the app or online.
The City will immediately begin the process of identifying and selecting a new parking meter technology vendor. The City had already been exploring the possibility of transitioning to a new parking platform before Park-O-Meter announced its closure.
Park-O-Meter is a large parking technology company with customers locally, nationally and internationally. The company’s decision to cease operations was unexpected and provided the City with limited advance notice.
The City is working to transition to a new vendor as soon as possible.
La Ciudad de Milwaukee responde al cierre de Park-O-Meter
La Ciudad de Milwaukee ha sido notificada de que Park-O-Meter, la empresa que proporciona el software que respalda los parquímetros de la Ciudad, dejará de operar a partir del 1 de octubre.
Como resultado, los pagos con tarjeta de crédito realizados directamente en los parquímetros no estarán disponibles temporalmente a partir del 1 de octubre.
