Latinos Leaders Endorse David Marstellar for Assembly in the 21st District

Milwaukee WI – David L. Marstellar (D- Milwaukee) is a healthcare advocate who is running against Republican Jesse Rodriguez. Prominent elected Latino officials, Latino Community leaders and organizations support David Marstellar. He released the following statement:

“We have a growing Latino community that has unique issues that impact them directly. From access to healthcare and expanding BadgerCare, to making childcare more accessible and affordable, and to increasing job opportunities we know that these issues impact Latinos disproportionately.

“I will work to pass drivers licenses for undocumented individuals, allow for professional licenses for Dreamers (DACA recipients) and in-state tuition for undocumented students.  It is past time that our legislature does the right thing and I am committed to supporting our Latino Community. I am grateful for the widespread support of the Latino Community and look forward to working with both Democrats and Republicans to pass much needed legislation that will help the Latino Community.”

Voces de la Frontera Action is endorsing David Marstellar as well as the following elected officials, Jose Perez (City of Milwaukee Common Council President), Sylvia Ortiz-Velez (State Representative for the 8th Assembly District), JoCasta Zamarripa (City of Milwaukee Alderwoman – 8th District), Marcelia Nicholson (Milwaukee County Board – Chairwoman, Caroline Gomez-Tom (County Board, 14th District Supervisor) and Israel Ramón (Milwaukee County Register of Deeds).

David is also supported by the following Latino community leaders; Darryl Morin (President of Forward Latino), Victor Huyke (publisher of El Conquistador), Christine Neumann-Ortiz (Voces de La Frontera Executive Director), Primitivo Torres, , Patricia Ruiz-Cantu (Membership Secretary of Milwaukee County Democratic Party), Priscilla Prado (Democratic nominee in the 9th Assembly District) Walter Garron (Brown Berets), Jaime Alvarado (WI LULAC President), Carmen Cabrera and Marisela Leal-Galvis.
