DPW Statement on BLS Numbers
(WISCONSIN) — Today, Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Philip Shulman released the following statement in response to the new BLS numbers:
“Donald Trump failed to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic which is why tens of millions of Americans are unemployed and forced to wonder how they’ll provide for themselves and their families. Trump has routinely ignored the public health experts and officials who are on the frontlines of this crisis and refused to implement a national testing and tracing program, provide PPE to frontline health care workers, and told states they were on their own. By downplaying the threat because he thinks it’s good politics, Trump has prolonged our national crisis, and cost us over 180,000 lives, including over 1,000 here in Wisconsin. We deserve leaders who prioritize public health and listen to the facts — that’s exactly what we’ll get with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in the White House.”
