MADISON, Wis. — In a recent PBS interview, MAGA Congressman Tom Tiffany blames high gas prices on “instability in the Middle East and Iran” but says it’s “outside of our control,” despite voting to continue the war-of choice in Iran five times.

“Congressman Tom Tiffany is failing Wisconsinites by refusing to take responsibility for his votes to continue the war-of-choice in Iran that is causing gas prices to skyrocket out of control,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Emily Stuckey. “Gas prices are crushing Wisconsinites and it is unacceptable for Congressman Tiffany to brush off those concerns after voting repeatedly for this crisis to continue.”

Congressman Tiffany goes on to claim that “gas prices are too high” but “the thing that I’ve been focused on is what can I do as governor,” shirking his responsibility to work to bring gas prices down as a sitting congressman.

As a reminder, here are multiple examples of times Tom Tiffany could’ve had “control” over gas prices and but refused to do anything about it:

  • March 2026: Congressman Tiffany Voted Against A Resolution Directing Trump To Remove Armed Forces From Hostilities With Iran. The resolution failed 212-219.
  • April 2026: Congressman Tiffany Voted Against A Resolution Directing Trump To Remove Armed Forces From Hostilities With Iran. The resolution failed 213-214.
  • May 2026: Congressman Tiffany Voted Against A Resolution Directing Trump To Remove Armed Forces From Hostilities With Iran. The resolution failed 212-212.
  • June 2026: Congressman Tiffany Voted Against A Resolution Directing Trump To Remove Armed Forces From Hostilities With Iran. The resolution passed 215-208.
  • July 2026: Tiffany Voted Against A Resolution Directing Trump To Remove Armed Forces From Hostilities With Iran. The resolution passed 214-208.
