MADISON – Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair released the following statement with respect to House Democrats refusing to leave the House floor until Republicans hold a vote on common-sense gun reform legislation:
“I applaud Wisconsin leaders like Rep. Gwen Moore, Rep. Mark Pocan, Rep. Ron Kind, and Sen. Tammy Baldwin for common-sense solutions to prevent tragedies like the recent mass shooting in Orlando. They stand with the millions of Americans affected by gun violence who are looking for real leadership from Washington D.C. on this critical issue.
“The American people are calling out for common-sense solutions, like preventing terrorists and people on the no-fly list from being able to purchase firearms. I’m so proud of the leadership Wisconsin’s Congressional delegation displayed to make our country safer.”
