Milwaukee, WI – (May 19, 2022) – A school assembly was held on May 19th at 2:30 p.m. to celebrate 100% college acceptance for the Class of 2022. The graduating seniors are the fourth straight class from Cristo Rey Jesuit High School to accomplish this feat.

President Andrew Stith told the class, “As Trailblazers, scholars, and workers, you have forged new paths, demonstrating resilience, faith, and courage, especially during these difficult times. Your class has left a permanent mark on our school community and hearts. We are so grateful that you have shared your lives with us and hope that you always feel welcome to come back and visit the school you have co-created.”

Principal Luke Harrison added, “They have been a community that has grown closer, more compassionate, and more driven towards justice. The world needs our seniors’ gifts – gifts of courage, of leadership, of service.”

Director of Postgraduate Success Zuleyka Rios and college counselors Dulce Gutierrez and Francisco Hernandez worked with the class throughout the year to help each student find the right college experience and best financial package. Overall, the class submitted almost 1100 applications and received 528 acceptances from 94 universities. Comments

  1. Mingus says:

Cristo Rey has continually focused on educating students and has deliberately avoided getting caught up in the conservative school reform politics like the Republican Christian choice schools: St. Anthony, St. Augustine, St. Marcus, and Milwaukee Lutheran.

  2. kaygeeret says:

Bravo to the students and the school, community and families that supported and nurtured them!

  3. Thomas Sepllman says:

Yes very good BUT the emphasis on ALL go to college raises a question about selection. We need good plumbers and all the rest of the trades. Any college prep school should have 100%. It is a college prep school not a school that is dealing with many of those who attend having suffered or are suffering significant trauma in their young lives. Those children are focused on day to day realities, not on going off to college.
