MILWAUKEE (Sept. 19, 2025) – The prestigious Breakfast of Champions, the African American Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin’s (AACCWI) annual fundraising event, will return to Fiserv Forum on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 7:45 a.m.

Breakfast of Champions is a celebration of the people and partnerships shaping the future of Black-owned businesses in Wisconsin. This year’s honorees include:

  • Business Champion: Seyoum Mengesha, a dedicated leader who has opened doors for countless entrepreneurs and strengthened the foundation for equitable economic development across Wisconsin.
  • Young Pioneer: Jeff Cannady, a visionary entrepreneur creating space and opportunity through media.
  • Rising Star: Melissa Blue Muhammad, celebrated for her bold innovation and influence as a creative leader in wellbeing and culture.

This year’s event co-chairs are Dr. Debbie Allen and Judge Derek Mosley, two longtime champions of community progress whose voices and values align deeply with the Chamber’s mission.

“The Breakfast of Champions is about more than recognition,” said Nikki Purvis, President and CEO of AACCWI. “It’s about making space to honor those who have quietly and consistently moved our community forward. The landscape of philanthropy and giving is changing before our eyes, which is why support for events like this is critical to sustaining our mission and keeping our business ecosystem thriving.”
