Brad Schimel, Law Enforcement’s Choice for the Wisconsin Supreme Court

WAUKESHA, Wisc. Today, the Schimel for Justice campaign announced that Judge Brad Schimel has received the endorsement of over 70 current and retired Wisconsin Sheriffs in his bid for the Wisconsin Supreme Court. The overwhelming support from sheriffs is in addition to the backing of the Milwaukee Police Association and the Waukesha County Police Chiefs Association. The strong, bipartisan support makes clear that Brad Schimel is law enforcement’s choice.

“Throughout my entire career, I’ve worked alongside law enforcement to ensure the people of Wisconsin are safe. From crime scenes to courtrooms, I’ve partnered with the brave men and women in uniform to protect our most vulnerable,” said Schimel. “Earning the support of law enforcement is a true honor, but more importantly, it’s a testament to our shared commitment to make Wisconsin safe again. As these brave men and women know, I give my unwavering commitment to safety, fairness, and the rule of law.”

The Milwaukee Police Association and the Waukesha County Police Chiefs Association represent over 1,500 law enforcement officials in Wisconsin. Schimel’s bipartisan support from law enforcement stands in stark contrast to his opponent, Susan Crawford, who lacks bipartisan support, pushed to end real-time tracking of sex offenders, and has provided short sentences to convicted child molesters and sexual predators.

“No matter the part of the state, Brad Schimel always takes the time to listen to law enforcement and aid us in the pursuit of justice,” said Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald (D). “I support Brad in his race for Supreme Court because he has proven his unwavering commitment to justice for all of Wisconsin.”

“As a prosecutor, Attorney General, and judge, Brad Schimel has always answered the call,” said Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt (R). “It’s clear he is the only candidate in this race who we can trust to put the law ahead of personal, partisan agendas.”
