Miller Offering Free Beer To Celebrate Brewers World Series
Rebate offer is valid anywhere in Wisconsin.
The company might no longer be headquartered in Milwaukee, and the Milwaukee Brewers might no longer play at Miller Park, but Miller Brewing is still ready to celebrate what was long its hometown team.
Molson Coors is offering Wisconsin residents a free Miller Lite on Friday, Oct. 23, to celebrate the Milwaukee Brewers’ first World Series appearance in 44 years.
The promotion coincides with Game 1 of the World Series, which will be played Friday at American Family Field.
Wisconsin beer drinkers 21 and older can receive a rebate of up to $8 for the purchase of one Miller Lite beer, provided it is a 16-ounce or larger can, aluminum pint or draft pour.
The purchase must be made Friday within Wisconsin. Customers will then have until Nov. 4 to submit a receipt showing proof of purchase to claim the rebate.
The beer giveaway is one of two promotions the company plans to celebrate the Brewers’ playoff run.
Molson Coors will also offer free tours of its brewery, 4251 W. State St., on Friday.
The brewery will host two complimentary 75-minute tours, starting at noon and 12:30 p.m. The first 120 people in line at the Miller Brewery Visitor Center will receive free admission, with 60 spots available for each tour.
Participants will also receive a commemorative Miller Lite Brewers hat. The first 30 fans who don’t secure a tour spot will still receive a hat, while supplies last.
The tours, which normally cost $20, include three beer samples for guests 21 and older with valid identification.
“As a longtime neighbor, supporter and proud beer sponsor of the Milwaukee Brewers, Miller Lite is raising a glass to this historic moment alongside Brewers fans across Wisconsin,” said Alison Hanrahan, community affairs manager for Miller, in a statement. “We can’t think of a better way to toast the Brewers’ incredible run than with beer and tours of the brewery we proudly call home.”
The celebration comes nearly two decades after Miller Brewing lost its status as a Milwaukee-headquartered company. The formation of MillerCoors in 2008 resulted in the company’s headquarters shifting to Chicago, though the Miller brewery continues to operate in Milwaukee and members of the company’s C-suite have been based in the city.
The company’s name also disappeared from the Brewers’ stadium in 2021. Miller Park, which opened in 2001 under a 20-year naming rights agreement, became American Family Field after Madison-based American Family Insurance secured the naming rights.
But Miller Lite remains the official beer of the Brewers, and the brand continues to have a substantial presence at the ballpark.
And with the Brewers headed to the World Series for the first time since 1982, it’s still Miller Time in Milwaukee.
