New location for Saz’s Catering opening in Walker’s Point
Saz’s Catering has announced that they will move their operations to 201 W. Walker St.
A well-known Milwaukee restaurant and bar is expanding its catering operation into Walker’s Point, Alderman José G. Pérez said.
Saz’s Catering, a spinoff of the Saz’s State House Restaurant that has operated in Milwaukee since 1976, has announced that they will move their operations to 201 W. Walker St. Alderman Pérez said the Walker’s Point location allows Saz’s to expand its catering operation in a location that offers high visibility and a vibrant atmosphere.
“I’m very pleased to welcome Saz’s to the 12th Aldermanic District,” Alderman Pérez said. “This business will be an excellent addition to the very diverse economic fabric of the near South Side, and an economic boon for Walker’s Point.”
The founder and owner of Saz’s, Steve Sazama, thanked Alderman Pérez and Common Council President Michael J. Murphy for their efforts and support in facilitating the relocation of the business. Sazama said Walker’s Point offered the ideal location and size for the unique needs of his business and the expanding, statewide clientele that Saz’s Catering serves.
“When it became apparent that we had outgrown our current facilities, we began an extensive search for the right-sized space and location,” Sazama said. “We wanted to stay in the city of Milwaukee because for us, that’s home.”
Sazama said he anticipates opening the new location in April 2015.
