Marcus Restaurant Group Announces Winter Chef Series
The Winter Chef Series will feature chefs from Mason Street Grill, InterContinental® Milwaukee, Hilton Milwaukee City Center and The Pfister Hotel.
MILWAUKEE – Feb. 8, 2016 –Marcus Restaurant Group has announced the return of its popular Chef Series to begin Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016. The winter program will take place every Saturday until March 12, 2016 from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Mason Street Grill Chef’s Counter, located adjacent to The Pfister® Hotel.
The Winter Chef Series will feature chefs from Mason Street Grill, InterContinental® Milwaukee, Hilton Milwaukee City Center and The Pfister Hotel. Each 90-minute session will include a demonstration, tasting and interactive culinary tips from the chef.
“Our chefs all have unique culinary backgrounds which is reflected in the diversity of the classes they have created,” said Susan Terry, vice president of culinary & food and beverage operations. “As part of the Chef Series, we want to give participants tools they can use to create delicious meals at home. This program is a great opportunity to interact with our skilled chefs and learn a few new tricks to show off to friends and family.”
Guests will get to know some of Milwaukee’s culinary leaders, expand their cooking knowledge and sample tasty creations. The atmosphere is light, friendly, and fun, with an emphasis on learning. With classes limited to 20 guests, attendees will enjoy a close-up look at cooking techniques in an intimate setting.
Following is a listing of each class in the Winter 2016 series:
February 20: Mason Street Seafood Classics
Mark Weber, Corporate Director of Culinary Operations, Marcus Hotels & Resorts

He will bring to the table some tried-and-true entrées with a simple yet satisfying nature, including teriyaki-glazed salmon, crumb crusted sea bass, West Coast mussels and more.
February 27: The Man Meal
Aaron Miles, Executive Chef, InterContinental Milwaukee
Can you handle the manliness? Step up your cooking game with a hunter’s feast of elk, rabbit and venison, paired with a lesson on homemade lox and curing meat, all topped off with a gin cocktail crash course. Don’t miss the chance to flex your culinary muscle.
March 5: Grapes & Grains
Bill Doyle, Executive Chef, Hilton Milwaukee City Center
“These two categories are not only nutritionally beneficial, but they are also unique and trending to mainstream cooking,” says Bill Doyle. Expect brilliant presentation and bold flavors when he serves up curry chicken with crimson lentil mélange, grape butter and savory grape raita.
March 12: A Taste of Ireland
Brian Frakes, Executive Chef, The Pfister Hotel
Brain Frakes reaches for the roots of his ancestry, crafting a series of classic Irish favorites with a modern touch. Experience a historic culinary tradition come to life with recipes from across the pond, including wild salmon, bacon & cabbage, and hearty homestyle noodle.
Chef Series Overnight Packages
Make a night of it and stay overnight at The Pfister Hotel Friday or Saturday night. Friday night stay plus two Chef Series tickets are $159; Saturday night stay plus two Chef Series tickets are $199.
