When I moved to the East Side way back when I was 18 in 1977, Von Trier’s was a quality and quiet place to have a glass of wine or two. No blaring music and drunken boys getting into stupid arguments. Glad to hear that Von Trier will maintain its flavor and not become just another generic bar.

  2. Donna says:

Happy to hear it! A place where we can all drink beer, laugh, talk family, friends, politics, opinions and then – dance to a polka! ‘Saturday Night Fever’, eat your heart out!

  3. Al says:

Great news about Von Trier! An East Side classic that deserves to keep its Germanic heritage intact. Will have to check out the Friday fish fry soon…!

  4. jay holz says:

great news about Von Trier. But they need to get rid of that awful billboard on top!!!!

  5. steve says:

I hope all the folks that pined away for keeping Von Triers the “way it was” will patronize it. Many of these folks lamented the closing of Judges and other North Ave. bars but hadn’t been in one if 15 year. Good luck Von Trier!

  6. Christina Zawadiwsky says:

So the power of the people prevails! I’m glad that Von Trier will continue to be Von Trier!
