MADISON – Today, Wisconsin State Representative Robyn Vining (D-Wauwatosa), Rep. Kristina Shelton (D-Green Bay), Rep. Katrina Shankland (D-Stevens Point), Rep. Christine Sinicki (D-Milwaukee), State Senator Jeff Smith (D-Brunswick), and State Senator Janet Bewley (D-Mason) introduced the “Hazard Pay for Frontline Workers” act, legislation which would create a new grant program to provide hazard pay for workers in industries most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Rep. Vining, Rep. Shelton, Rep. Sinicki, Sen. Smith, and Sen. Bewley released the following statement:

“Frontline workers in Wisconsin have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic, and now it’s our turn as legislators to do our jobs. We are proud to introduce legislation that would recognize and honor their contributions to our communities and state. Frontline workers didn’t go home early, and neither should their legislators. Our work this year isn’t finished!”
