Safe & Sound Purchases New Headquarters in Sherman Park Neighborhood
Milwaukee, WI – Safe & Sound is excited to announce the purchase of its new headquarters. The new building, which was purchased in September, is located in the Sherman Park neighborhood (4422 W. Leon Terrace), one of the neighborhoods Safe & Sound serves as part of its efforts to help residents create a safer Milwaukee. Safe & Sound will be relocating from its current office space at 801 W. Michigan, which is owned by Marquette University and is being redeveloped.
Joe’Mar Hooper, Executive Director of Safe & Sound, says “As an organization that serves residents in ten priority neighborhoods, including Sherman Park, our mission of service will be greatly enhanced by residing in one of the neighborhoods we serve. In addition, we are excited to finally have a space large enough for us to be able to engage the community and host meetings and programming in our own building.”
As an introduction to the neighbors in the Sherman Park community, Safe & Sound will host a Fall Festival event in the parking lot of our new building (4422 W. Leon Terrace) on Thursday, October 21 from 4-6pm. There will be free candy for the kids, community resource and health information tables and a variety of local vendors. Tours of the building will also be offered during the fall festival. The event is rain or shine.
