Playing in the Plants, the restaurant collective behind On The Bus and Sugar Cube Donuts, has announced their newest plant-based concept is opening inside 3rd St. Market Hall on Wednesday.

Make Waves features a fully plant-based menu including layered boba tea, smoothies, toast, flatbread wraps and a comprehensive build your own açaí “Wave Bowl” bar featuring creamy superfood bases and a variety of fresh toppings.

“From the food to the artistic design, our team has put so much care into every detail. We’re excited for our plant-based vision to grow in Milwaukee,” said Emily Ware, the entrepreneur behind the Playing in the Plants Restaurant Collective.

3rd St. Market Hall, located at 275 W. Wisconsin Ave. in the former Grand Avenue Mall, is Milwaukee’s newest food hall and features a full bar, top golf, a selfie museum and eight unique vendors. In addition, the 3rd St. Market Hall website lists eight more vendors that are expected to open within weeks. The food hall opens daily at 11AM.

“Make Waves brings a great energy to the market hall with their vibrant colors and fresh ingredients,” said 3rd St. Market Hall Operations Manager, Jaime Jacobs. “We are excited to expand our vegan offerings and add some fun, healthy options to the roster.”
