MSOC Hosts Carroll on Senior Night

Golden Eagles host final nonconference match of the 2026 on Tuesday

MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men’s soccer team (6-4-1, 0-3-0 BE) steps out of conference play on Tuesday for its final nonconference match of the season, hosting Carroll. As a part of Senior Night, the program will celebrate five seniors (Ryan Amond, Antonio Costabile, Clayton Hamler, Renan Salum, Mateo Stoka) prior to kickoff.

Kickoff between the Golden Eagles and Pioneers is set for 6 p.m. CT at Valley Fields and will stream on ESPN+.

STRONG IN THE NONCONFERENCE
Now in its third season under Head Coach David Korn, Marquette is a combined 16-4-5 in the nonconference which includes a 6-0-2 mark in 2025 and a 6-1-1 mark in 2026.

  • The Golden Eagles have lost just one nonconference match in its last 14 (10-1-3).
  • MU’s last nonconference defeat to a non-ranked opponent came on Sept. 15, 2024, a 2-0 loss to UIC.
  • Three of MU’s four nonconference losses under Korn came in have come against ranked opponent (Wisconsin 2x, Northwestern).

KORN MATCHES BEST START
At 6-4-1, the Golden Eagles tied David Korn‘s best 11-match start with his 2024 team. Korn’s team’s finished with six wins in 2024 and seven in 2025.

  • MU’s six wins is one shy of matching the program’s highest win total in the past five seasons.

HERMANN WATCH LIST
On Oct. 2, Tomiwa Adewumi was announced as one of 30 players selected to the MAC Hermann Trophy Midseason Watch List. It was the first time a Golden Eagle has earned a spot on the list since Lukas Sunesson was a semifinalist for the award in the spring of 2021.

  • Adewumi was the only freshman on the list, and was one of just four underclassmen.
  • Adewumi was one of four players from the BIG EAST on the list.

CLINICAL FINISHERS
Marquette has scored 20 goals on just 98 shots, converting 20.4% of its attempts, the fifth-best conversion rate in the country, 1.8% back of UNC Asheville’s top rate.

  • Five schools are above 20%, including Marquette’s first two BIG EAST opponents (Georgetown, Creighton).
  • Tomiwa Adewumi alone has scored on 47.1% of his shots (8-of-19). He is 8-of-9 in shots on goal.
  • The Golden Eagles have scored on 37.7% of their shots on goal (20 goals on 53 SOG), the sixth-highest rate in the NCAA.

BY THE NUMBERS
20.4% – Marquette ranks No. 5 in goals per shot attempt, 1.8% back of first.
5 – Marquette will honor five seniors on Senior Night on Tuesday.
