Milwaukee Public Library to Host Artist Presentations Tuesday, February 4th
Four Project Finalists Will Present Public Art Concepts for New Library
MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Public Library Public Art Selection Committee will hold a meeting to hear presentations by four finalists selected to develop public art concepts for outside the main entrance to the new East Branch. The finalists including Ray Chi, Susan Falkman, Colin Matthes and Catherine Lottes will each present design ideas to the committee and attendees. The public is encouraged to attend. There will be an opportunity for community feedback following the presentations. Residents are also encouraged to share feedback on the proposals by completing a community survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/TXSH6YQ.
The creative work is tasked with activating the space outside the library and engaging visitors while reflecting the ideas of community, literature, story and learning. The four public art proposals can be found at www.mpl.org/EastLibrary.

Public Art Program Details
Four Wisconsin-based artists were selected as finalists by a Public Art Selection Committee. Selections were based on past experience and portfolio submissions. The finalists were asked to submit site-specific concept proposals and present their ideas in a public meeting. Community input will be considered in the final artist selection.
