Law Forward Files Brief Arguing Elon Musk Cannot Escape Accountability for Election Bribery Scheme

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Law Forward filed its opposition to Elon Musk‘s motions to dismiss today in Wisconsin Democracy Campaign v. Elon Musk et al., arguing that Musk and his co-defendants cannot use procedural maneuvering to avoid answering for an alleged scheme to bribe Wisconsin voters ahead of the 2025 Wisconsin Supreme Court election.

Musk paid millions of dollars to Wisconsin registered voters — $100 per petition signer, plus referral bonuses and the chance to win million-dollar awards — as part of a coordinated effort to influence last year’s election. Today’s brief makes clear that the case must proceed.

“Elon Musk spent millions of dollars bribing Wisconsin voters, and now he wants a court to throw out the case instead of answering for it,” said Law Forward President and General Counsel Jeff Mandell. “Our suit alleges that Elon Musk and his affiliated groups launched a coordinated and illegal bribery scheme during a Wisconsin Supreme Court election. But our elections are not for sale. We’re confident that this case will be decided on the merits and our clients work forward to their day in court.”

Law Forward’s case is moving forward in Brown County Circuit Court after being transferred from Dane County earlier this month.
