MILWAUKEE – April 22, 2025—Jewish Museum Milwaukee will host a community-wide celebration honoring the life and legacy of Helen Daniels Bader on Tuesday, May 20, her birthday. The event is free for all Milwaukee County residents and includes cultural programming, wellness experiences, and guided tours of the museum’s current exhibit, Choices of Consequence: Denmark and the Holocaust.

Helen Daniels Bader was one of Milwaukee’s most beloved philanthropists and advocates for elder care and Alzheimer’s support. Later in life, she earned her master’s degree in social work. She made a lasting impact through her work and the Bader Foundation’s continued investment in Milwaukee’s nonprofit and cultural landscape.

The celebration aims to recognize her enduring legacy and invite the community to engage with her values through a day of meaningful programming, including:

  • Free admission for Milwaukee County residents to the museum and all programs
  • Public and student tours of Choices of Consequence: Denmark and the Holocaust
  • A Lunch & Learn lecture on the intersection of Jewish mysticism and Zen culture
  • An experiential sound bath and meditation session
  • Tea, toast, and live violin music to honor Bader’s spirit of reflection and connection

“Through this day of cultural, historical, and wellness-focused programming, we hope to celebrate not only Helen Bader’s legacy, but the ripple effect of her generosity that continues to shape Milwaukee,” said Molly Dubin, curator at Jewish Museum Milwaukee. “We look forward to welcoming visitors from all over the county to participate, learn, and reflect.”
