Jen Kirkman to Headline Milwaukee Comedy Festival

Comedian and Best Selling Author to Headline closing night at Historic Turner Hall.

MILWAUKEE, WIS – Milwaukee Comedy is very excited to announce Jen Kirkman as the headliner for the 11th Annual Milwaukee Comedy Festival. Ms. Kirkman will close out the festivities on Sunday, August 7th at 8pm at the Historic Turner Hall Ballroom.

Jen Kirkman tours throughout the world, her Netflix Original Comedy Special “I’m Gonna Die Alone (And I Feel Fine)” has been called one of the Top 10 comedy specials of 2015 by Time Out NY, New York Magazine, and The Atlantic. Jen is also the New York Times Bestselling author of I Can Barely Take Care of Myself and her follow up book, I Know What I’m Doing and Other Lies I Tell Myself; (Dispatches From a Life Under Construction) was released in April 2016.

Along with her performance, Ms. Kirkman will be signing books after the show. “We always strive for the best show possible in order to give our audiences the best experience,” said Matt Kemple, festival founder and producer, “and I can think of no better way to cap off the fest than having Jen perform for us.”

The official kick-off event will take place at Lakefront Brewery on Wednesday, August 3. The first three days of events will take place August 4, 5, and 6 at Next Act Theatre, 255 S. Water St., Milwaukee, WI with the final night, Sunday August 7th, 2015 taking place at the Historic Turner Hall Ballroom, 1040 N. 4th St., Milwaukee, WI.

The Milwaukee Comedy Festival was founded in 2006 as the Sketch and Improv Comedy Festival in an effort to cultivate an active comedy community where artists can hone their craft, create new and exciting comedy, as well as foster an inviting environment for audiences and performers alike.
