Jacob Malinowski Wins Democratic Primary for 82nd Assembly District
For the first time in seven years, Rep. Skowronski will face a serious opponent in November
GREENDALE, WI — Last night, Jacob Malinowski claimed victory in the Democratic primary for Wisconsin’s 82nd Assembly District, earning 65% of the vote and winning each of the district’s three municipalities.
Jacob will face Republican incumbent Ken Skowronski in the general election on November 3rd. The 82nd District has not been represented by a Democrat since 1998, and Rep. Skowronski has not faced a serious challenger in seven years. Jacob currently has a 2-to-1 cash on hand advantage heading into the final three months.
The 82nd district includes the southwest Milwaukee suburbs of Franklin, Greendale, and Greenfield.
Shortly after the race was called, Jacob thanked his supporters via Facebook Live:
“This victory was only possible because of the grassroots support we received in every corner of the district. Since we launched in April, our campaign has been about the thousands of hard-working folks around here who are tired of partisan politics and inactive leadership.”
“For the first time in seven years, there’s a real choice to make on the ballot in November. You’ll have to ask yourself: who’s up for the challenge? Over the next three months, I’m going to keep working hard to earn your vote and make Madison work for us.”
About Jacob
Jacob is a lifelong resident of the 82nd Assembly District and grew up in a middle-class, bipartisan household. From his time on the school board to working three service industry jobs to pay for college, Jacob learned early on what it meant to serve others. Jacob is in this race to serve his hometown: his neighbors are sick of do-nothing partisan politics and deserve a new, passionate leader who is willing to put in the work and develop real solutions.
