Clearing the Air

"My opponent and his supporters continuously spin the narrative that I am bought off, or otherwise not independent. This is false..."

“Before the April 3rd election, I want to clear the air in terms of the election for Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors District 8. My opponent and his supporters continuously spin the narrative that I am bought off, or otherwise not independent. This is false, I ran because I wanted to keep moving Milwaukee County forward. Our gold medal winning parks continue to be neglected, and we don’t have sufficient Sheriff’s Deputies to adequately serve our county. It is time for new leadership on the Board. I was never asked by anyone to run, other than by my friends and neighbors throughout the South Shore. I am being supported by real leaders from the South Shore, like our deputy sheriffs and South Milwaukee Mayor Erik Brooks. If I am elected I will be independent and always put the concerns of District 8 first.”

“I know that by working together we can solve the tough issues facing our county. I hope the voters of District 8 will look past my opponent’s false rhetoric and consider who will be a better champion for the district. Working as the Senior Director of Operations and Planning at Bublr Bikes, I’ve worked extensively with the county as well as the Cities of Milwaukee, West Allis, Shorewood and Wauwatosa. This experience will allow me to hit the ground running on day one, working to move the South Shore forward. I hope to have earned the opportunity to represent residents of our district following the April 3rd election”

James was born and raised in Racine Wisconsin, graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison and received his law degree from the University of Florida. Since moving to South Milwaukee, he’s fallen in love with the South Shore communities and is co-founder and treasurer of Growing South Milwaukee, a nonprofit working to bring a community garden to South Milwaukee. James is happily married to his wife Stephanie. Stephanie was born in Cudahy and is currently a high school teacher. Together, they have a 2 ½ year-old daughter. James is the Senior Director of Operations and Planning for Bublr Bikes, Milwaukee’s nonprofit bikeshare system.

The general election is on April 3rd, 2018.

  1. Charlie Dee says:

Mr. Davies, You might be the greatest guy in the world, but he-who-considers-himself-emporer, Chris Abele, is spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to get you elected. He’s using his trust fund money to exponentially break all spending records for County Supervisor. You hardly spent anything in your primary because you knew Abele’s PAC was putting out mailer after mailer for you. Abele has no respect for democracy, can’t abide checks and balances, and cannot tolerate people who question him or disagree with him. That’s why he’s bankrolling you and other candidates to oppose sitting members of the County Board who have voted against him and people like Steve Shea who can’t be bought.

    And you’re INDEPENDENT???

    Give me a break.

    You’re bought and paid for.
