The four Democratic candidates for Wisconsin Assembly District 19 will discuss their positions and take questions from voters at a candidate forum 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday June 5 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 2618 N. Hackett Avenue.
Six East Side neighborhood groups are sponsoring the forum.
The candidates will face off in a primary election Tuesday Aug. 12. Since no Republican has announced a candidacy, the Democratic primary winner likely will be the only candidate on the Nov. 4 general election ballot.
The four candidates are Dan Adams, Jonathan Brostoff, Marina Dimitrijevic and Sara Geenen.
Rep. Jon Richards, who has held the seat since 1998, is running for attorney general and is not seeking reelection to the Assembly. The 19th District includes Milwaukee’s East Side, Bay View, East Town and Historic Third Ward neighborhoods.
The forum is free and open to the public. Bruce Murphy, editor of Urban Milwaukee, will moderate the event.
The forum’s sponsors are the Cambridge Woods Neighborhood Association, Eastside Milwaukee Community Council, Greenwich Village Neighborhood Association, Historic Water Tower Neighborhood, Mariners Neighborhood Association and Murray Hill Neighborhood Association.
