Recipients were honored at the 32nd Annual TEMPO Mentor Awards Luncheon at the Pfister Hotel. Nearly 600 of Milwaukee’s most influential business and community leaders gathered in-person for the first time in two years to celebrate, network and honor Dupies and Herd-Barber.

“One of the greatest things we can give each other as women is encouragement. Alicia and Jackie take the job of mentoring and encouraging the next generation of leaders seriously,” said Jennifer Dirks, TEMPO President & CEO. “As women leaders they are known for taking action in the board rooms and in a more personal way with their one-to-one mentoring. The power of their leadership lies within their ability to lean in, climb up and give back.”

They join an impressive list of more than 70 TEMPO Mentor Award winners recognized since 1990. Past recipients include this year’s event co-chairs and TEMPO members ErickaJoy Daniels of Advocate Aurora and Mara Lord of the Medical College of Wisconsin who were both awarded “Heroic Mentor” awards last year.

In 1990, TEMPO established the Annual Mentor Awards to celebrate and raise awareness of its dedication to mentoring and continuing education. Mentor award winners each receive a $5,000 scholarship in their name which they designate to a four-year educational institution in Wisconsin and goes to a deserving female undergraduate student. The TEMPO Foundation has awarded $300,000+ in scholarships to more than 75 Wisconsin women since the inception of the event.
