AFT Local 212 endorses Katie Kegel for Circuit Court

MILWAUKEE — The campaign for Katie Kegel for Judge in Milwaukee County Circuit Court, Branch 3, today announced she has received the endorsement of the American Federation of Teachers, Local 212.

“As a public defender and skilled legal advocate, Katie Kegel understands firsthand that we need widespread change that addresses the systemic inequality in our courtrooms. She will work to restore faith in our legal system and treat everyone with dignity and respect,” said AFT Local 212 President Lisa Conley. “Local 212 COPE is confident Katie will be a judge that carefully considers the facts of each case and the lives impacted by the law. We are proud to endorse her in this race.”

“Our community has a rich history of organized labor advocating for progressive policies, workers’ rights and ensuring that every person has a voice in their workplace and beyond,” said Kegel. ”AFT 212’s coalition of educators and staff is no exception, giving voice to our shared values of justice and equity for all. I am proud to have the support of their membership in this race.”
