Katie Kegel Statement on Election Results

By - Apr 6th, 2021 10:23 pm

MILWAUKEE — Katie Kegel’s campaign released the following statement on her victory in the Milwaukee County Circuit Court race for Branch 3:

“I want to thank the voters across Milwaukee County who put their trust in me to apply the law fairly and diligently, taking into account the unique circumstances of each case. I am grateful for my family, friends and supporters who were there for me through this entire process. I am also grateful and inspired by all the people I’ve met on the campaign trail who are already working tirelessly to bring change to Milwaukee County’s courtrooms.

“I look forward to serving Milwaukee County on the Circuit Court. I will be a judge who remains an active member of my community, with the understanding my role is first and foremost a position of service. I am committed to ensuring that our justice system is reducing harm, not creating more for our community.

“Since this election began, I’ve said that this is the right place, at the right time, for our legal system to again become a justice system that works better and more thoughtfully for all. I am incredibly grateful to the voters who believed in this message. The real work starts now and I will strive to get it right every time, in every case. Together, we can continue to work toward a more thoughtful and diligent justice system.”
