Registration Now Open for HaRUNbee 5K Walk/Run for Healthy Birth Outcomes
Registration is now open for the 11th annual HaRUNbee 5K Walk/Run for Healthy Birth Outcomes – a part of Bronzeville Week 2026. The 16th Annual Bronzeville Week will take place August 1-8, with the HaRUNbee 5K kicking off the week of activities on Saturday, August 1.
The HaRUNbee 5K Walk/Run for Healthy Birth Outcomes was designed to raise awareness and to prevent unhealthy birth outcomes across the nation. Organized by the National Coalition for Healthy Black Families (NCHBF), the HaRUNbee Walk/Run promotes wellness by encouraging families to stay healthy and fit, both mentally and physically. Those interested in participating in the event as a runner, walker, or volunteer can learn more and register here. Groups of 10 or more are encouraged to register at special rates and compete for a trophy.
Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs is inviting community members to participate in and support this year’s 5K. “Every year as we begin Bronzeville Week, the HaRUNbee 5K works to generate engagement by bringing people of all ages and backgrounds together united by the cause of providing healthy birth outcomes,” she said. “By joining the 5K as a runner, walker or general supporter, you can play an important role as we work to reduce infant mortality, promote physical wellbeing, and support mental health. I encourage event veterans and newcomers alike to join us in this great cause.”
