Harvard Business School Club of Wisconsin Encourages Statewide Non-Profit Execs to Apply for Leadership Program Scholarship
MILWAUKEE, WI, January 29, 2026—The Harvard Business School Club (HBSC) of Wisconsin encourages Wisconsin non-profit executives statewide to apply for scholarships to its week-long leadership program, “Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management” held this summer at Harvard Business School in Boston. Applications are open and must be submitted by February 28.
The scholarship provides a unique opportunity for nonprofit leaders to step back from their day-to-day roles and share experiences and insights with fellow executives and Harvard Business School faculty. Participants will explore proven ways for their organization to achieve high performance and connect with nonprofit leaders from a broad range of sectors and geographies, including about one-third from outside the United States.
“Amid rising demands and limited resources, nonprofits need strong community leaders more than ever,” said Ellen Galezewski, president of the Harvard Business School Club of Wisconsin. “Through this program and our Club, we’re proud to support the talented leaders who serve our state by giving them access to tools, insights, and global relationships that strengthen their impact locally.”
Fulfilling a core pillar of the Club’s charter to develop local communities and advance lifelong learning, HBSC has provided access to management education through more than 70 scholarships granted since 1998 to deserving Wisconsin nonprofit leaders. These include Abby Andrietsch, President & CEO, St Augustine Preparatory Academy; Laura Gutierrez, CEO, United Community Center; Michael Johnson, President & CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County; and Chad Bauman, the Ellen & Joe Checota Executive Director of Milwaukee Repertory Theater.
“This leadership program offers leaders extraordinary gifts,” Bauman said. “The time and space to think deeply and dream boldly, a rigorous curriculum that challenges you to see opportunities and obstacles from new perspectives, access to the resources and talent of Harvard Business School, and a cohort of inspiring leaders from around the world.”
To qualify, applicants must have 10 years of professional experience, and have served at least one year as President, CEO or Executive Director of the Wisconsin nonprofit they represent. Their nonprofit must have a minimum of five full-time employees, an annual operating budget of at least $1 million, and serve the public in human services, arts, education, environment, health care, community development or related areas.
One or more $7,500 scholarships will be provided to cover program tuition fee including books, case materials, on-campus accommodation, and most meals.
